As consumers get more and more tired of brands pushing sales and generic content, it’s important for retailers and brands to get “real” on social media. Make it a point to start sharing meaningful content depicting life behind the scenes of your store or atelier. Share the stories behind your customer’s special purchases whether it’s a 50th anniversary or a birth of a child. Showcase memories of your store or original sketches of your designs. It’s also imperative to not get too caught up in trying to make your content “perfect”. Users want content that looks like real-life, just prettier.

Ephemeral Content

“Ephemeral” is a buzzword you’ll hear over and over again in 2019. It refers to content that is short lived (think Instagram stories and live sessions). Whether it’s a quick five second video of your latest design or a front row seat at one of your store’s trunk shows, get into the habit of sharing stories often and going live at least once a month.
